Nasal Obstruction, Sinusitis, Septorhinoplasty

Before and after nasal obstruction surgery (Septoplasty and concha reduction); right side

The right nasal cavity is shown before and after nasal obstruction surgery. In this case the deviated nasal septum is straightened and the enlarged inferior turbinate is reduced in size. Note the significant enlargement of the nasal airway passage after surgery.

After Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS)

Obstruction of the sinus ostium and the narrow channels in the nose leads to chronic sinusitis and nasal poliposis. FESS is an endoscopic surgery in which the polyps and other inflamed mucosa is removed with the enlargement of obstructed channels and pathways. The air and mucus flow is restored to natural, hence the name ''functional'' is given to this kind of sinus surgery
